The new Surrey FE/HE Skills Alliance met on Friday to finalise our commitment for building a truly collaborative post‑16 skills system for our county with SurreyFE’s Activate Learning, Brooklands Technical College, East Surrey College and North East Surrey College of Technology (NESCOT); University for the Creative Arts, Royal Holloway, University of London and University of Surrey; ALPS Partnership Limited, Surrey Chambers of Commerce and Surrey County Council.
This Alliance unites FE, HE and key partners behind a shared mission:
– shaping a learner‑centred, flexible and future‑ready skills system
– aligning provision from Level 3 to Level 8 with Surrey’s economic priorities
– tackling skills gaps across priority sectors
– strengthening inclusion for NEET young people and vulnerable adults
– preparing Surrey for national reforms including the Lifelong Learning Entitlement, LSIP delivery and Jobs Plans
With all partners around the table – and Surrey County Council convening the work through to 2027 – we now have the foundations in place to drive real, county‑wide impact.
A big moment for Surrey’s skills system, the start of a powerful new chapter of FE/HE collaboration and a big thank you to University of Surrey for hosting.
New projects to be announced soon!
