For Ella, an apprenticeship with SurreyFE has provided the opportunity to develop new skills, gain valuable industry experience and build a career in marketing.
Ella joined Brooklands Technical College through a Level 4 Marketing Executive apprenticeship, gaining valuable experience in the role while applying her learning to real-world marketing projects across Brooklands Technical College and SurreyFE.
One of the highlights was supporting the 2026 SurreyFE Teaching & Learning Conference, where she helped deliver the marketing and communications activity for the event. From developing social media content and email campaigns to coordinating event materials and supporting the photography and videography brief, the project provided an opportunity to apply her learning to a high-profile SurreyFE initiative and see the impact of her work first-hand.
The apprenticeship also provided opportunities to work with colleagues across SurreyFE, build her professional network and develop the confidence to take on greater responsibility. With support from her colleagues and apprenticeship training, Ella successfully completed her End-Point Assessment, achieving a Distinction across all three elements of her Level 4 Marketing Executive Apprenticeship.
Her apprenticeship has now led to the next stage of her career. Following the successful completion of her apprenticeship, Ella has taken up a permanent position as Digital Marketing Executive at Brooklands Technical College.
In her new role, she will continue to support marketing activity across SurreyFE, using the skills and experience gained through her apprenticeship to deliver engaging digital campaigns, strengthen social media activity and support the organisation’s wider marketing objectives.
Reflecting on her journey, Ella says: “My apprenticeship has given me the opportunity to learn, develop and gain experience while working on projects that have a real impact. Achieving a Distinction and progressing into a permanent role has been a fantastic way to mark the end of my apprenticeship, and I’m excited to continue developing my career while contributing to the marketing work across SurreyFE.”
