SurreyFE Skills Competitions – Employers, we need you!

Construction • Hair & Beauty • Creative/Digital • SEND

We’re excited to be hosting the SurreyFE Skills Competitions in 2026. A celebration of talent, creativity and technical excellence across key industry sectors – and we’re inviting forward-thinking employers to play a central role.

By getting involved, you’ll help shape the next generation of industry-ready talent while supporting high-quality education and employability across Surrey.

Ways you can get involved

  • Sponsor the competition: Help cover the cost of materials and equipment that enable students to showcase their best work.
  • Become a judge: Share your expertise, set industry-relevant expectations and inspire young people.
  • Offer a 2-week work experience placement as a first-prize reward: Give a standout learner a real-world opportunity that could shape their career.

Why your involvement matters

Employer engagement in skills competitions directly strengthens education quality and workforce readiness:

  • Quality of education: Competitions encourage learners to stretch beyond their qualification level.
  • Personal development: Students build confidence, resilience, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Employability & industry alignment: Your input helps ensure learners develop skills that meet real employer needs – creating a stronger local talent pipeline.
  • Driving continuous improvement: Our competitions support our SurreyFE colleges to benchmark performance, keep staff skills current and drive up standards.
